Charlie is one of our permanent foster placements as he suffered a tail-pull injury which had disconnected his tail from his spine and caused nerve damage to his bladder and bowels, meaning he is unable to go to the toilet by himself and needs to be expressed throughout the day. He also wears a nappy to ensure he and his surroundings stays as clean as possible. He had his tail amputated, as it no longer served any purpose and was draging behind him. This was the best decision for him which was agreed between the Moonstone Team and the vets as it ensures he is cleaner and more hygienic.

Charlie is very vocal and loves attention & food, and is getting constant love and attention from his foster family.

Tobi is in permanent foster placement as he is a senior cat with acromegaly which is caused by excess secretion of the growth hormone. This is the reason he has a larger chin and doesn't stop growing in size - it is also the reason he has diabetes. He has to have insulin injections twice a day and regular check ups & blood tests at the vets to ensure he is staying healthy and at the right levels. He also had to had all but a few of his teeth removed as they were moving, and rotting due to his continous growing.

Tobi is a sweet boy who loves attention and human connection with his foster family but also appreciates time to sleep - espically on anyone's jacket or handbag.

Kitty came into the rescue with 2 friends as her owner had unfortunately passed away. Once she had been checked over by the vets, it was discovered that she has a tumor in her liver/spleen area. Her 2 friends were in good health and were lucky to find a wonderful forever home but due to Kitty's health, she will stay in long term foster. She is the sweetest girl, despite being a tortoise shell cat (who are known to have more of an attitude) and wants nothing more than love and attention. Her fosterer has fallen in absolute love with her and we couldn't be happier with her placement.

Hudson is a very sweet sugar glider who came into the rescue due to his aggression with his previous owner. Since being in the rescue and placed in long term foster, he has shown little to no aggression towards people but is very nervous and took a while to settle. He has also never been socialised with other Sugar gliders, which has caused behavioral issues as sugar gliders are social animals. He will remain in long term foster as he can't be paired with another of his kind after unsuccessfulprevious attempts and is loving all the attention and treats he is getting from his foster placement who is very experienced with Sugar gliders.

Maxine is a 10 year old Chinchilla who came into the rescue as he suffered a broken leg and her previous owner was unable to provide her with the required treatment she needed. After visiting one of our amazing vets, Maxine had her leg amputated and recovered really well. She is now living a happy life in an adapted enclosure to accommodate her missing leg which stops her ability to jump with her fosterer getting lots of love and attention.

Flora came into the rescue as she had been handed into a vets after a member of the public tried to keep her as a pet and tame her, but then realised that she is not a dog and cannot be treated as one. Shortly after coming into the rescue, she started to have seizures which were treated and monitored by our great team and vets. She was on medication to treat the seizures and is occasionally on medication to treat any potential issues that come up. Flora is an absolute sweetheart who is too tame to be released into the wild, and due to her medical conditions, needs close monitoring by her fosterer to ensure she can live a happy and healthy life.
