ABOUT MOONSTONE RESCUE
Established in 2016
The moonstone is a stone of new beginnings, inner growth & strength. It soothes emotional instability, stress & stabilises the emotions providing calmness. It also invites healing & motherly nurturing and alleviates fear associated with change.
Moonstone Rescue has been created by people wishing to provide these attributes to animals in need. To help those in distress, to calm, nurture & provide a forever home with a perfect fit for both animal & family to take into their homes and hearts or release into their natural habitat once they have made a full recovery.
Everything Moonstone Rescue does is for the animals. It is a not for profit organisation run by people who simply care for the welfare of animals & will go out of their way to rescue those in distress who may need medical attention or those who have been abandoned or mistreated & require love and care to put them back on the right track.
Moonstone Rescue is based within Hertfordshire but covers London, Hertfordshire & Middlesex but please contact us on our "Contact Us" page for further assistance even if you are outside of these areas so we can provide you with assistance and/or advice.
WHAT WE DO
Each member of the Moonstone Rescue Team will do anything to help any animal who may be in a bad situation including abandonment and abuse. This includes domesticated animals such as cats and dogs but also includes wildlife such as birds, hedgehogs and exotic animals - there is no animal we wouldn't help to ensure they get the medical treatment required, or just to ensure they have the best life possible.
RESCUE
We rescue any animal who is suffering, in imminent danger, or from any situation that is unhealthy or unsafe, including all furry creatures as well as those in the wild. So whether this is cute kittens, feral cats, dogs, wild swans and birds, injured foxes or exotic animals, we will always do our utmost to help any animal to gain medical attention, a forever home, care before it is well enough to be let back into the wild or whatever is necessary for each and every creature. We rescue with care and attention to the individual animals needs.
REHABILITATION
Wildlife - we provide treatment and care for any sick, injured or orphaned animal with the ultimate goal of returning the animal to the wild. We do not try to domesticate wild animals, just provide a safe space with medical attention where necessary until the animal is well enough to be able to fend for itself in the wild. They are only held in captivity until they can survive in their own habitat on their own.
Abandoned, abused, neglected or unwanted animals are given the care and attention they deserve in a loving foster home with access to medical treatment when necessary. They are then matched with a suitable forever home. Whilst in foster care they will be monitored closely and helped to trust and not be afraid of people that care for them. It often takes a while for animals to grow back the trust, dependant on how they were treated before they came into the rescue. Once that has happened and they are also neutered/spayed, vaccinated and microchipped, they are ready for adoption to a forever family.
